Welcome to the Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory at Ehime University
Strengthening disaster prevention measures against natural disasters such as major earthquakes, torrential rains, and floods is a critical issue. With large earthquakes occurring frequently both in Japan and abroad, provisional information regarding the Nankai Trough Earthquake was released in 2024, and its occurrence is drawing ever closer. In addition, due to the effects of climate change, heavy rain disasters are becoming more intense and frequent, and in the Shikoku region, landslides and flood disasters have been occurring repeatedly.
In our laboratory, we are engaged in a wide range of research not only on countermeasures against such geotechnical natural disasters, but also on the development of sustainable infrastructure and the renovation of aging facilities.
